Holiday GalleriaHoliday Galleria: A Day of Shopping, A Year of Giving is Junior League of Wichita’s annual upscale shopping event featuring more than 120 regional and national merchants. The event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19. The 18th annual Holiday Galleria is scheduled for October 6-8, 2022 at Century II Expo Hall in downtown Wichita, Kansas. The objective of Holiday Galleria is to raise funds to fulfill Junior League of Wichita’s goal of building a better community. We would like to thank the sponsors, both past and present, who helped us to raise net proceeds of more than $1.6 million in our first 16 years. Thursday, Oct 6 – 6:00-0:00pm. Ticket price is $65/pp for Premiere Party. Friday, Oct 7 — general admission $12/pp 10:00am – 5:00pm. AAUW Work Smart in WICHITAJunior League of Wichita Work Smart is a grassroots salary negotiation workshop board Initiative provided in partnership with W, Wichita Community Foundation, Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, WSU Tech and the American Association of University Women (AAUW). These FREE workshops teach women how to determine their market worth based on their skills, experience, performance, qualifications, and responsibilities on the job. In 2017, median annual earnings for men in Kansas were $49,267 compared to $37,931 for women — an earnings ratio of just 77 percent, or 42nd out of all states and the District of Columbia, according to the most recent census data. The gap is worse for most women of color and working mothers. With Congressional gridlock at the federal level, states are working to enact their own legislation.
